Heather Perkins, RN, BScN works as a Nurse Coordinator in the Inherited Bleeding Disorders Program at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Ottawa, Canada. She functions as a care coordinator and a research nurse for the program. In collaboration with the team they have provided their patients the opportunity to participate in several Hemophilia Treatment Clinical Trials. She is affiliated with the CHEO Research Institute.
A graduate of the St Lawrence Nursing Program and obtained a Post RN, BScN from St Francis Xavier University, Antigonish Nova Scotia.
She has co-authored journal articles and presented at symposiums within the bleeding disorder community.
At this time, she is the Past President of the Canadian Association of Nursing in Hemophilia Care (CANHC).
Heather has held affiliations with both the Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) and American Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nursing Association (APHON).
