Megan Chaigneau is a Master's trained nurse, PhD candidate, with a dual position working as Nurse Coordinator for the Inherited Bleeding Disorders Program in Kingston, Ontario (CANADA), and as Research Nurse with the Clinical and Molecular Hemostasis Research Group at Queen's University (CANADA). Her educational background includes an Bachelor of Medical Science from University of Western Ontario and a Master's of Science Nursing from McGill University.
Working under the supervision of Dr. Paula James, Megan is involved in many research projects on Inherited Bleeding Disorders with a special interest on clinical issues that affect women and girls with bleeding disorders, particularly hemophilia carriers. She will be starting a PhD in Translational Medicine this September looking at the diagnostic pathway for Inherited Bleeding Disorders and how it might be improved with early genetic testing.
