Hortensia De la Corte-RodrĂguez is a MD specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. She holds a PhD by the Complutense University and a Master's degree in Coagulopathies by the Alcalá University.
She works at the University Hospital La Paz and is a researcher member of the IdiPaz Institute of Health Research in Madrid (Spain). She is in charge of reference rehabilitation units, having accumulated extensive experience in the management of people with coagulopathies, limb amputations and complex musculoskeletal pathology since 2007.
In the field of coagulopathies, her area of expertise includes the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal problems of people with haemophilia, with a special focus on pain and disability due this condition. She has long experience in the use of point-of-care ultrasound for early diagnosis and follow-up of haemophilic arthropathy, and in performing ultrasound-guided techniques. Consequently, she participates as an instructor in multiple training courses on ultrasound applied to haemophilia. She was certified as a HEAD-US trainer in 2015.
She is the author of more than 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications as well as several book chapters. She is involved as a reviewer in international journals, as a consultant in research projects and as a lecturer in different university courses and master. In addition, she is a member of different scientific committees and collaborates with several patient organizations.
