Cyrus Githinji is a senior program coordinator with over 8 years of experience driving strategic project growth in leadership, care and patient and community engagements. He holds a BSc. Nursing and MSc. Public health Degrees. As a dynamic leader, he has spearheaded the expansion and enhanced access to care for Sickle Cell Disease, Hemophilia and other Rare Bleeding Disorders in the vast Western Kenya propelling the programs into local and international spotlight. His innovative strategies have led to increased interest from different partners locally and internationally in sickle cell disease, hemophilia and other rare bleeding disorders’ care, capacity building and research. He has a solid record of accomplishment in leadership roles at the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), Eldoret, Kenya. He also has roles at a national level with the Kenya Hemophilia Association (KHA), a hybrid organisation incorporating patients, parents and healthcare professionals, currently as the secretary. He is one of the key persons involved in the development of a country-specific hemeophilia treatment guideline for Kenya launched in 2022 and an active member of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) of KHA. On a global stage, he is a member of the WFH Nursing Committee representing low and middle-income countries.
