Dr. Kouides is Medical and Research director of the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center. He is Clinical Professor of Medicine of the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He was a member of the 2021 VWD guideline working group of ASH/ISTH/NHF/WFH and is an appointed member of the NHF Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee, NHF VWD task force and the NHF State of the Science working group for VWD and other disorders of hemostasis. He is an appointed member since 2021 of the ISTH SSC VWF subcommittee. He is past-president of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Societies of North America. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorder (FWGBD) Learning Action Network. Dr. Kouides is past-president of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Societies of North America (THSNA) 2018-2020. He also directed the World Federation of Hemophilia twinning program between the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center initially with Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan 2009-2013 and with Kathmandu, Nepal 2014-2019 with plans for third twinning.
