Peter Aguero is the specialized doctor of physical therapy of the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Treatment Center, at the University of California, San Diego. In addition, he is a senior physical therapist for the Department of Rehabilitation at the Jacobs Medical Center and Thornton Hospital in La Jolla, California
He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California.
Peter is committed to improving the overall health and wellness of patients with hemophilia and treatment of associated impairments such as joint arthropathy, muscle bleeds, heterotopic ossifications, chronic pain, and consequential gait/movement deviations. Peter was involved with researching the validation of the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Joint Activity and Damage Exam (JADE) protocol, the development of Wellness/Exercise programs for this patient population, and researching the feasibility of patient self-imaging with ultrasound via teleguidance. In addition, he is the co-chair for the CME-accredited course “Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Training for Hemophilia and Other Arthritic Conditions” and earned his Registered in Musculoskeletal sonography (RMSK) certification.
