Physical Therapy and MSKUS Program Manager
Washington Center for Bleeding Disorders
Seattle, United States
Dr. Bruno Steiner, PT, DPT, LMT, RMSK is the Physical Therapy and MSKUS Program Manager with the Washington Center for Bleeding Disorders in Seattle, Washington, where he treats patients with hemophilia and conducts clinical research. He is a clinical instructor with the University of Washington, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Steiner is actively involved as a speaker and lecturer for the advancement of MSKUS use in the realm of hemophilia and is an instructor for UCSD's MSKUS in Hemophilia course in San Diego. He currently co-chairs the regularly scheduled international "MSKUS Rounds and Case Discussions in Hemophilia," during which Hemarthrosis, Hemophilic arthropathy, and MSK differential diagnosis are explored using the modernizing tool of MSK ultrasonography.
Before joining the hemophilia community nine years ago, he practiced manual physical therapy in his outpatient center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he treated acute and chronic orthopedic conditions for 25 years. To his pleasant surprise, he found that, with some modification to his technique, both soft tissue and joint mobilization were indeed helpful in the management of hemarthropathic pain as well as other MSK complaints. To this day, he continues to implement manual techniques and therapies in concert with MSKUS evaluation to treat the many MSK challenges faced by people with hemophilia.
