M. Elvira P. Correa is a dentist who graduated from the Piracicaba School of Dentistry, University of Campinas, Brazil in 1986. She began her career at the Children's Hospital "Domingos A Boldrini" and later served as the head of the dental Ambulatory at the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center (Hemocentro) and the IHTC "Cláudio Luiz Pizzigatti Correa". Elvira has been dedicated to developing continuing educational programs for undergraduate and postgraduate dental students in the interface between dentistry and hematology. She has also lectured at the School of Medicine and the Piracicaba School of Dentistry, University of Campinas. After retiring from the University in 2017, Maria continues contributing as a member of the Dental Committee for the Dental Hospital of the Dental Council of Dentistry of São Paulo State. She has been an active member of the WFH Dental Committee since 2002 and considers it an honor to continue her participation.
