Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK
Dr McLaughlin is a clinical academic physiotherapist who works in the Katharine Dormandy Haemophilia Centre and Thrombosis Unit at the Royal Free Hospital in London. His clinical and research focus is on pain, bone and joint health and physical well-being in people with haemophilia and other bleeding disorders. He completed his PhD in 2023 which focussed on better understanding the pain experiences of people with severe haemophilia, and how these experiences could be used to develop an exercise intervention for managing chronic pain associated with haemophilic arthropathy. His current programme of research aims to understand the skills and confidence of haemophilia healthcare professionals in managing pain and to identify potential ways to help support better pain management approaches.
