Dr. Konkle has built a career in clinical and laboratory-based research in disorders of hemostasis, including hemophilia and von Willebrand disease and in mentoring trainees and junior faculty in these areas. She has a long-standing interest in the genetics of bleeding disorders, and bleeding disorders in women and in aging patients.. She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders and on the World Federation of Hemophilia and Chairs the Steering Committee for the WFH Gene Therapy Registry. She has decades of experience in the diagnosis of bleeding disorders and recently led the US ‘My Life Our Future’ project which genotyped over 11,000 patients and potential genetic carriers of hemophilia. She also researches outcomes in hemophilia and von Willebrand disease and trials of new therapies for bleeding disorders. She has published extensively in these areas.
