Jan Glazewski is a seventy-year-old severe classic haemophiliac (less than 1% factor VIII) married to Louise van Riet. Both his knees have been replaced, left ankle fused , right ankle replaced and left elbow replaced. He was diagnosed HIV positive in 1985 as a result of receving contaminated blood products He is a retired Professor from the Institute of Marine and Environmental Law at the University of Cape Town where he taught, researched and consulted in the area of marine and environmental law. Among his achievements has been the unearthing in 2019 of his ancestral family silver buried by his late father in September 1939 at the onset of World War II in former Poland now Ukraine.
