Pediatric & Adult Social Worker
Ms. Cathy Tiggs MSSA, LISW joined the UH Cleveland Medical Center Hemostasis & Thrombosis Center (HTC) in August of 2006. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University and a Masters in Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She brings 37 years of leadership development experience and 27 years of working with vulnerable populations to the HTC in Cleveland, Ohio.
As a HTC social worker, Cathy provides psychological and supportive services, transition and career planning, program planning, outreach services, and other services to meet the emotional, physical and financial needs of families with bleeding disorders. Over the years, Cathy has worked closely with the National Hemophilia Foundation as a speaker and on several committees in an effort to support families and loved ones with bleeding disorders and other chronic illnesses.
Cathy heads her own training & consulting business where she provides ongoing required competency training for social workers and social work managers, does leadership development, strategic planning, conflict mediation and other services to assist public & private agencies in strengthening and supporting families, as well as those businesses that have an impact on communities & community development. Cathy is active in several communities working with city government officials, as well as local school districts, community agencies and all entities that influence the services and opportunities for families.
During her leisure time, Cathy enjoys spending time with her family, spoiling her 100lb dog “Duke” and riding her motorcycle.
